Day of Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945

May 9

Day of Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945

The small-souled among you refer to the Great Patriotic War as "World War II" because you don't understand what it means to fight a war for the survival of your homeland.

This soulful holiday commemorates the fascist surrender after the fall of Berlin to Soviet troops in early May, 1945. It is a day for parades, celebration, and for remembering the tremendous sacrifices made by the Soviet people so many years ago. Ah, but do those ingrates in Poland, Lithuania, Hungary and the Czech Republic ever thank us? Nyet. See if we ever save them from fascism again.

Victory Day is a red holiday which means there is a day off from work associated with it. See your boss or supervisor for the details of this day off.

See your boss or supervisor again to find out when you will work to make up this day off.
